About Sobremesa Festival

Sobremesa Festival is a day-long Mexican food and ideas event that seeks to encourage conversations about fields-to-table culture, fair-food movements and gastronomic explorations within Mexico and the United States.

Sobremesa Festival has three components: Talks, Pop-Up Market and Workshops. Attendees will listen to food experts and leaders in Mexican gastronomy, food industry, academia and activism, experience the flavors, colors, textures, sounds and smells of a Mexican pop-up market and try new foods while engaging with the rituals of Mexican cuisine.

Sobremesa Festival is a Jaime Lucero Mexican Studies Institute at CUNY initiative created in collaboration with various community-based organizations that are already promoting cultural, educational, and social programming for the Mexican community in the United States.
